We turned up at the hotel to find that it was closed, despite receiving an email confirmation the week before. I called the telephone number on the door and left a message on the answerphone but no one has ever called me back.
This is a beautiful place to stay next to some even more beautiful attractions. I would definitely stay here again. The rooms were clean and staff were lovely. The only downsides are that WiFi is not available in the rooms and there is absolutely no phone signal. Not a deal breaker especially the WiFi but without either a basic phone signal or WiFi and we had left our children behind for this trip it was a bit worrying that we wouldn't be contactable in an emergency. The only other nit pick is that the bar isn't so much a bar as a built in drinks cabinet so we didn't feel as comfortable sitting around and socialising in the bar at night but again this isn't a deal breaker just worth noting for anyone who would consider it such. For the price and the quality of the room and the location alone we would definitely stay again.
Lovely place to stay. Great food and almost ideal room - if it had a view overlooking the gardens, it would have been as close to perfect as possible. Absolutely no complaints about the bed, comfort, cleanliness or staff, who met every requèst with a cheery smile.
