Five star hotel room but two star service(s). My wife and I stayed 7 nights and had the opportunity to take advantage of all the services offered by the hotel and unfortunately while the hotel room was opulent the service was abhorrent at times. I'll start with check in and front desk staff; prior to check in I was experiencing some challenges with my phone service transitioning from one country to another my phone was basically otiose as I had no services and was attempting to resolve using my wife's phone. I proceeded to check in and was informed incidentals are charged at 100 Euros per day (since 7 nights) they would charge 700 Euros; this was fine and I provided my card. The card didn't go through at first and the agent needed help from another agent as she discovered the euro button needed to be pressed not the usa button of course this was realized after much embarrassment and the agent neglected to provide us champagne at check in; something my wife pointed out later. Front desk staff seems to have no connection with other departments even the concierge across from them as many times I was told a concierge is around however would learn from bell staff a concierge wouldn't be available until later; it should be mentioned luggage is routinely all over the front lobby easy for the taking. I have so much more to add but am only allotted 1500 characters and will use this to state that the room service was impeccable and I would stay again for the room but nothing else.
