Transportation is a bit iffy, as buses are unreliable (or come by roughly every hour at best), but it is a quiet and safe residential area.

Beach at hotel is unusable to swim in due to seaweed and such. They have a shuttle to the other side where beaches are beautiful. Pool areas had plenty of seating and large towels. I would certainly recommend the Terraces at Mangrove to anyone visiting Barbados.
No bugs, we were surprised. We were able to drink the water. Felt safe. Temps were cooler than when we left Florida & always a nice breeze. I read about "Island Time", but everyone was early or on time.
