A motel employee happened to be in the parking lot area and saw me struggling with the lock, came over and used a physical key to turn the bolt and lock the door. Then, when I came back to actually use the room to sleep, the keypad code would not work to unlock the room. Also, the room was billed as non-smoking but smelled of cigarette smoke. When I came back that night, there was a rowdy party going on outside the door, based in the room next door to mine, AND, the keypad code would not work. Left and told the night desk person I would not be staying. WE DID NOT get a room that was suitable or as pictured. Our room was in the far corner of a VERY DARK parking area with people sitting outside their rooms on the ground and within the parking lot. The couches were dirty. The shower had some hair in the drain and on the shower walls. There wasn't any cleaning service. Smelled horrible. Window didn’t shut nor lock. Air conditioning does not blow cold air. Room was unlocked when we got there. Dirt and grime on walls, ceilings and window. Hole in carpet. It was awful. Asked for a different room and we were told no because we used Expedia we would be charged again. Went for breakfast and every crockpot was empty. No pastries nor muffins were left. I had to ask for the food to be replenished. Front desk lady told me to call Expedia. Couldn’t find a phone number. I will only book direct from now on. Do not go to this hotel! We had to go to that hotel to check in. Our room at the Simmer motel did not have a smoke detector, carpet, flooring & furniture was stained, dirty & dingy.
