“A wonderful stay at Mountain Heights Lodge, highly recommended. The hosts, Karl and Maria, are very friendly and helpful, gave us useful information on food opitons & trails when checking in Room (motel unit) was clean with full equipped kitchenette. The private Spa pool is a plus, relax after a full-day hiking. ”

“It looks like the place has been going thru renovations. The room has new kitchen and floor, may be carpet too. It is about 15-20 min. to the NP visitor center and many thrailheads and has restaurants and supermarket nearby. Since the room has full pane glass as wall and access door along the corridor ( much like patio door ) which allows full view of the mountains and also tenants walking on the corridor. For privacy, you need to close the curtain.”

“I stayed for 3 nights during local trail running race event. The place is really tidy and well maintained. I sensed the owners' passion for this place and Tongariro region. The kitchen is spacious, has large fridges and everything you need. You can bring your own food and cook without any hassles. The lounge is even better with pool table and table tennis table. There are two decent restaurants, a petrol station and 4-square supermarket nearby, so you can find all the essentials. ”
