We came for skiing in Heavenly Resort and this is the perfect location to stay although interior renovation is still going on some floors.

There were some excellent things about this property. They let us check in very early and we were able to skip the parking at Heavenly and change in our room. The valet parking was fast and easy. We had a huge room for a reasonable cost. The things that could have been improved: the hotel definitely needs some updating in the rooms. There was a lack of great dining options (coffee bar only open on weekends and room service only after 4pm). We overall had a great stay, however!

Great location - seems like updates have become stagnant as people will pay whatever to be close to skiing. Stayed at this property 5 years ago and really have not noticed anything different since then. The hot tub, besides not functioning, was old and chipped away. Squeeky doors, hairdryer that did not work (was an electrocution risk as the button that turns on exposed internal wiring). No self parking, always have to valet - which isn't bad, but would consider having valets have Venmo accounts as nobody carries cash anymore. Cruel policies about leaving property on check out day immediately. There is no functioning bar/cafe - just seems like owners are using COVID as an excuse to get away with providing no services and charging overinflated rates. People and valet were awesome, but the owner's lack of interest and investment is on large display.

The ONLY reason to stay at this property is it's proximity to the heavenly Cal lodge entrance, however after checkout you may not leave your car there, and there is no luggage room. This means you have to be packed and ready to leave before the heavenly parking lot fills up (about 8AM the week we were there), which really nullifies the hotels only attraction. The rooms are ok, though oddly shaped, old, not well kept (only half the outlets worked, got a slight electric shock turning on the coffee maker, ext'). The location is terrible - must drive everywhere (including the mountain across the street, as mentioned above), the Jacuzzi was great, though to small for a hotel this size so did get pretty crowded. The coffee shop is closed on the weekend, and no room service is available before 4PM so nowhere to get breakfast without driving and losing your parking spot at heavenly. This stay was far more disappointing then any motel stay I had in Tahoe, at 3 times the cost. Strongly recommend you save yourselves the aggravation and find alternative accommodations.
