“Lovely property and stay. Staff were helpful when needed. I didn't use the facilities; bar and dining so cannot comment on that but everywhere was very clean. No air con but there are fans available if needed.”

“Check-in and check-out were very smooth. The room was spotless and the amenities were excellent, including the well-stocked small fridge with food and snacks. The weather was exceptionally cold during our stay, and unfortunately the small heater wasn’t quite enough to keep the room comfortably warm.”

“My stay was only three nights but it turned out to be like two separate stays. I was checked into a single room as requested and was initially delighted with it. But I then found that it coincided with football being shown on a large screen TV just yards away in the courtyard from my window, and that my room was next door to a gents toilet open to the visitors (ie public). And after experiencing the toilet door banging every 30 seconds and a hand dryer whirring literally the other side of the……

“We had a lovely weekend at The Red Lion. The staff were incredibly helpful both ahead of and during our stay, and the pub food and breakfasts were very tasty. Our room felt a little dated and in need of maintenance in places, especially in the bathroom, but it served its purpose for our stay and we would be happy to go again.”

The room is very large, very clean and well ventilated. The small touches in the room were very welcome, good towels, comfortable large bed and great coffee tray. We went for lunch in the restaurant and it was out of this world, the duo of lamb being the absolute favourite. It was so tender, the ragu tartlet was rich and delicious with the pastry case……
