Creek side cottage with awesome porch and fire pit

Creek cottage on Conodoguinet Creek a class 1 stream on the International Whitewater Rating system with private access for kayaks, tubes and canoe - bring your own or rent from us. Convenient to everything but private. Hershey and Carlisle are an easy 20 minute drive. House is located on creek with a septic system so we use environmental safe products and ask guests to conserve water while showering. We have organic apple, peach and pears on the property for guests to enjoy in season. We allow pets with additional fee. The house sits on a Good Hope Road which is a busy route connecting Carlisle Pike and 81. The house is 5 minutes to grocery, drug store, movie theatre, and all major food choices. Creek living with all amenities so convenient does mean you will hear cars passing by when outside. We don’t allow parties and ask that when outside to respect neighbors. Fire pit is available and you can bring your own wood. Fishing is permitted in creek under PA Game and Fish guidelines. Canoe, kayaks and tubes available to rent. For guests staying 5 days they are free to use once liability waiver is signed.

Excellent property. We only slept there, so now shower, no use of the kitchen, etc. We didn't really have time to enjoy the property. But it is a beautiful spot on the water and one we will probably come back to.

Nice winter weekend
Despite the not so nice initial impression driving in on the very short steep driveway, this place did not disappoint. Initial impression- it was winter: brown grass, mud, visible mold stains on outside of house. The inside was cute and cozy and was the perfect space for our family and dog. It was too cold to enjoy the porch but that seemed great. Overnight it snowed, how beautiful the property was then! The driveway was a challenge but there was plenty of ice melt available and we needed it to get out! Lynne was an amazing, communicative host offering up many suggestions for our son who will be relocating to the area. We definitely would stay again. I would be curious to know what the property looks like in the spring/summer/fall when it is green.

Peaceful Cottage
Our stay was peaceful and quiet. The property is absolutely beautiful. Cottage faces the creek with most of the yard being in front. I spent most of my time on the screened in front porch listening to birds all day. Plenty of amenities, kitchen utensils, bed linens ect. The drive in and out is steep and short as rear of home is close to a main road.

Perfect Place
We came in from TN for our daughters college graduation. We had a small luncheon afterwards with immediate family. The pictures do not do this place justice. The back yard was full of green grass which led up to the creek. My entire family felt peace and tranquility while visiting. The driveway was a little steep but we had no problems pulling in/out, you just need to accommodate to the environment. Plenty of space and they are eco-friendly which we liked. Hoping to secure this location for future visits. Also- the host?! Super friendly and accommodating. Actually wanted to stay longer bc of the peace and quiet but had to depart. We will be back! Thank you for a pleasant visit. We enjoyed every minute. The screened in porch was a major plus for people like me who get eaten alive. 5 stars

Weekend escape
Great little weekend escape for a local wedding. Lawn and creek access are wonderful. Cute cabin with plenty of space for the five of us and dogs. Thoughtful touches outside and inside. As advertised, house backs up to a busy road, but we brought noise machines to negate noise impacting sleep. We would stay again. Only regret is we didn’t get to spend enough time at the property!

A nice, clean, comfortable place to stay.
The creekside cottage was a nice place to stay when we visited family in the Mechanicsburg area. It was very clean and comfortable and had everything you needed for an extended stay. Lynne was a great host and took care of any issues that arose in a quick manner. The property is nice and private and has great access to the creek. If you want to go for a walk or run, the road is too busy and narrow, but there is a nice trail you can drive to on Sears Run Drive a quarter mile north.

On the Water!
We were in town for a few days to visit family after the holidays. Our host was super responsive and friendly! Thank you! Many of the riverfront properties in this area used to have little fishing shacks on them, which have since been converted into homes with electricity/running water. This house feels like one of those little gems. The driveway is a little steep and dips down to the flat property below. We arrived at night and missed the driveway the first time! The full bath is on opposite side of the house, so you must walk thru the living room. Bring everything you need first! Our only negative was that the master bed mattress dips in the middle and the one at the end of the hall wasn't great either. My husband has a bad back and had to sleep in the single off of the living room. Investing in new mattresses would be great. We packed very lightly knowing there was a washer/dryer but noticed a request not to use them before asking permission so please be aware of this. The house is on septic so nothing down the toilet but tissue and a request to limit shower time. My teen didn't appreciate that but it was easy to achieve for all of us! Also know you'll need some elbow grease to hand wash your dishes here! The grounds would be amazing in the summer being right on the water and the fire pit and the big screened-in porch and the provided canoe! The home's guest book provides a lot of info on fishing and things to do on the river. We came with 2 dogs and found dog bowls under the kitchen cabinet and lots of grassy ground for them to sniff. The kitchen had everything we needed for our short stay. The house is very close to grocery stores and restaurants. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Thanks again!
