You don't have to limit yourself to the points of interest in Mer because the entire region is dotted with plenty of wonderful cultural and natural attractions. Place St-Firmin and Beaugency Hotel de Ville which are in and around Beaugency, are worth checking out. Beaugency, is 8 miles (13 kilometers) away from Mer. Another choice is to make your way over to Blois. It's roughly 11 miles (18 kilometers) from Mer and is home to the St. Louis Cathedral and Musee d'Histoire Naturelle.
About 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the northeast of Mer is Orleans, a regional center where you'll find St. Pierre-le-Puellier, Place de la Loire and Sainte-Croix Cathedral. If you have time to spare, consider checking out Place du Martroi and House of Joan of Arc before returning to Mer.
