What a great find, just out enough to rest and relax yet close to Eguisheim, Colmar, and castle ruin hikes. Our room was wonderful and very well maintained. The restaurant was great too! The private balcony was nice and we always enjoy more than one chair in the room, we had three! All the staff were personal especially our afternoon receptionist (curly hair) so very pleasant. Bed, pillows, internet, great and a dark room to sleep too, this was a great find and a great three night stay.

Don't stay here while hotel is under construction - safety issue. First, the in-room mini-fridge was broken—the front desk failed to mention at check-in. If we were notified, we wouldn't buy groceries. Because the hotel was under construction, they had to take our groceries to a sister property three blocks away to keep them cold. When we were ready to pick up our groceries the next day, we were told we had to walk over and retrieve them ourselves, which we were not aware.. The biggest issue, however, was a major SAFETY hazard. Our bathroom had an adjoining door with no lock, giving the neighboring room complete access to our space. When we reported this, the front desk worker refused to send anyone to check, claiming she couldn't leave her post and housekeeping was too busy. Worse, she repeatedly insisted it was "impossible" for the neighboring room to enter our room, effectively treating us like liars. After we strongly insisted on a new room for security reasons, she moved us. Surprisingly, she moved us to the neighboring room, which allowed us to walk straight into our originsl room through the unlocked adjoining door, which we demonstrated to the housekeepers on duty. The total lack of safety and poor customer service made for an unacceptable stay.
