This place was much cuter than I expected. Very clean and neat. I checked in late in the evening and they had my key reserved, making it a seamless process. The staff is also very knowledgeable about the area and gave good recommendations. Note that this place is right next to Monaco making it easy to travel between Monaco and Nice. Would totally recommend.

Staff was exceptionally helpful and forthcoming. Room with a garden view was a path view. Had ants on the floor everywhere and fridge couldn’t be plugged in unless it was moved. It’s safe for solo travellers. Close to bus stop and relatively close to a beach. Sheets were clean. I’d come back!!

Room smelled like tobacco and we couldn’t manage to stay there. Open window wouldn’t help. Hotel is old and outdated. Room is so tiny, no closet. Can’t fit in the shower, that’s how tiny it is. Sink pipes broke down and overflow personal belongings. We moved to the next door hotel Miramar, nice, clean, remodeled, and twice cheaper than Normandy.

We stayed at Hotel Normandy for three days and have a wonderful time. The owner is personable and friendly and the staff was EXCELLENT. The room was clean, comfortable, think blankets and excellent air conditioning. The shower was the best I've had in all of France! Wonderfully hot water with a string pressure. Such a welcome surprise! Breakfast (not included in the daily rate) was delicious - fresh fruit, wonderful croissants, and some pastries. If we are ever travelling back through, we would stay here just for the sake of spending more time with the staff. Truly a wonderful experience.

It is a cozy place to stay for a vacation. The hotel staff and owner are lovely people. We booked for one night and extended for another night. If time had allowed us, we would have stayed more days there. The property felt like home. Where it is located: Cap D’ail itself , has so much to offer already. And bus stations snd train stations are close. It’s easy to go to Monaco and Nice. We will miss Hotel Normandy.

I don't understand the negative reviews for this hotel. I thought the hotel was very clean, which is my number one concern. The decor of the hotel was fun. The hotel itself is well-maintained. The staff was very professional, friendly, and helpful. Our room had an ocean view, which some on-line guests complained about not being able to see the beach, but you do have a view of the water, the tops of some red-tiled houses, and Nice in the distance. We actually spent a lot of time sitting on the balcony, watching the boats and sunset, for which you have a reasonable view. The beach is about a 15-minute walk but is absolutely stunning. You can also catch the train at the bottom of the hill and quickly be in Monaco or Nice. There are also some really great Patisseries and a very good grocery store nearby, which has fresh-baked bread near the checkout. Parking was not straightforward, but we figured it out. The hotel has no parking, despite what the Expedia web page says. Guests park at the public lot nearby, where you do have to pay during the day (free at night). It's hard to find a spot there during the day, having to wait a 5 or so minutes until someone leaves, but the lot clears out in the late afternoon and evening, with enough free spaces. Parking was a little inconvenient but not as bad as in a larger city.. Compared with other hotels in the area, this hotel is a good price. It would be hard to find another hotel this nice for the price along the Riviera.
