The good: You can tell they made an effort to renovate the property. Everything was fairly new and in good condition. Amenities were fine. Decor was nice. The breakfast was very good. It was nice to have many free choices as well as a discount on a variety of other choices. Breakfast staff were friendly and pleasant. This might be a silly thing to note, but the ice in the ice machine was really good. :)
The bad: I understand how hard it is to keep wood floors clean in the desert, as I live in the desert and have wood floors at home. That said, when I spilled some ice onto the floor and wiped it up with the hand towel, I was appalled by what came off the floor. They are clearly not mopping, and I suspect not sweeping well or regularly, either. Also, we showed up a couple of hours early and asked if we could check in early. We were told that it would cost $25 to check in early. That's ok, I guess, and I understand rules, but it's literally never a problem anywhere else, and the parking lot had may 6 cars the night that we stayed, so they weren't overwhelmed with check-ins. And we know they didn't keep us out because they were cleaning the room, so it felt petty. The bed was clean and decently comfortable, but the pillows were rock hard.
The spa suite with the hot tub was a novel experience, but for the price, I wouldn't do it again.
