Excellent place to stay, watch the elk and close to everything

We arrived to the lodge after eating dinner in town. The employee at the front desk was not helpful. I had booked through Expedia and she could not find my reservation. After about ten minutes she said oh here you are in the system, but Expedia didn’t book your room. I was confused and when I asked her why, she explained that it was Expedia’s fault. She said they had no room for us and that I would have to contact Expedia. She offered no solution for a room for us. She said I have a suite available and that it would be $258 with my husband’s military discount. It was late and we needed a place to sleep so we paid it. She did not offer the room at the rate I had already paid through Expedia nor did she seem to care that we were tired and needed a place to stay. The room was going to be empty for the night anyways as it was 10pm and I don’t believe anyone else was showing up there for that suite. There was no effort to make up for the mistake that the Lodge made about booking our room. It was not Expedias fault, but I did not want to argue with her. I have booked with Expedia for 20 years and never had a problem. We were on a three week vacation this time and it was the only hotel out of 10 places we stayed that had an issue. I understand that accidents happen, but it was the lack of customer service to make it right that upset me the most. When I contacted Expedia they made it right for the hotel because they have great customer service. The property seemed lovely.
