You truly are paying for what you are getting in this situation. It was technically clean but there were patches missing in the carpet. The headboard was falling off. Paint peeling. That type of thing. But had it been cleaned? Sure. We didn’t see any bugs, etc. Our room never got serviced, we had to ask for towels but that was fine. We were literally only there to sleep. There isn’t much to it. Exactly what you see pictured. There was a coffee maker in the lobby which was nice because you can’t buy a cup for less than $7 once you leave. As far as the location, there is a subway station and a bus stop in the main square which is about a 10 minute walk with just one turn. However, there is only one subway that runs to that part of town unless you go to Penn Station. There isn’t really much around that’s touristy. No skyline or landmarks. The vessel is beautiful and the mall is very nice. But you won’t be walking to any main attractions. The subway and bus will be your ticket anywhere. ***I WILL SAY the staff was impossible to get in touch with when you are outside of the hotel. Calling downstairs from your room always got an answer. And there was always someone at the desk from what we saw. BUT god forbid you want to call them for any reason. I called at least 20 times on multiple different numbers and there was someone very deliberately answering the phone and immediately hanging up on each phone number I tried. Even the one provided by Expedia. That was infuriating.
