Welcome to this Racquet Club Retreat! This quintessential Krisel-designed, Alexander-constructed home, previously owned for 25 years by Hollywood icon Debbie Reynolds, was restored in 2021 and 2022, including front and back landscaping and salt water pool w/ infinity spa. The home sits on a large quarter-acre lot in historic Racquet Club Estates offering incredible views of Mt. San Jacinto; the desert landscape garden is gated and secured featuring 4,000 sq ft of grass, a new pool, with imported/hand-made Portuguese tile & jetted infinity spa, 4 pool loungers, umbrellas, Kohler™ outdoor rain shower, fire-pit & lounge area for 6 and a new (2022) built-in grill.
Designed as a "green" first mid-century residence, the home is self-powered with solar & Tesla Powerwall™ battery, and the garage is equipped with 2 EV chargers (one Tesla™ and one EV universal).
• Pool & Spa Brand new salt water pool and heater as of 2022; the pool is remote controlled and you have control over lighting and spa jets. The pool deck features 4 loungers and 1 umbrella. Pool towels, toys and floats are provided. Up to 3 hours/day of spa heating is included in rental rate. Please note that pool heating is charged separately, see below for details.
• TV & Internet 65” Samsung™ 4K TV w/ Apple TV™ in living room (includes Netflix, HBOmax™, Hulu™, AppleTV™+, Amazon Prime™, and DIRECTV Stream™). 50" Roku™ TV's in every bedroom. Living room also has Nintendo Switch w/ Mario Kart and Super Mario Odyssey. Ultra High-speed Wifi internet (500/20 Mbps) is available throughout the property.
• Music Sonos™ Beam speaker is in main living area. Connect with your own devices to stream your favorite music via Spotify™ or other streaming services; please download the latest Sonos™ app to your phone or computer. Please note that no outdoor music is permitted per Palm Springs city ordinance.
• Kitchen The kitchen comes fully equipped with utensils, drip coffee maker, coffee grinder, cold-filtered & ready-hot drinking water, Jura™ Espresso machine, French press, blender, LG refrigerator with cocktail ice, Bertazonni 5-burner stove & convection oven. Tea, coffee, sugar, spices and oils are also provided.
• Sleep 1 primary bedroom with king bed and ensuite bathroom that was completely renovated in August 2022. 2 guest bedrooms with 1 king and 1 queen bed and shared bathroom. Mattresses are provided by Satvaa™ featuring cooling percale linens and white down comforters.
• AC & Heating Enjoy the desert in comfort with a commercial HVAC system. Ecobee™ allows for easy controls.
There are 2 spaces for vehicles in the garage and 1 in the driveway. Total # of vehicles included on property at any time (including overnight guests) is 3 per Palm Springs city ordinance. Garage parking is preferred.
POOL & JACUZZI HEATING Up to 3 hours/day of spa heating is included in rental rate. Pool heating is optional and charged separately at $85 per day (Oct-May) and $65 per day (June-Sept). A small discount may be provided for 7 night bookings. Please note that due to the rising costs in natural gas that these are actual costs to heat the pool (i.e. there is no up charge). Pool heat is set to 82F°, Spa can be heated up to 100F°. Higher pool & spa temperatures can be arranged upon request and additional charges. You may decide to heat the pool at the time of booking or later on, just keep in mind that it may take up to 24 hrs to heat-up. If you would like the pool to be pre-heated and ready for your arrival, please let us know at least 24 hours prior to arrival. A three day minimum applies; payments will be handled after reservation is confirmed and prior to check-in.
POOL & LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE The pool is being cleaned and tested twice per week, usually this occurs on Monday & Thursday (weather permitting) ~ 10am for 20 mins each. The gardener comes one time per week, usually on Wednesday afternoons (weather permitting) for ~30-60mins.
TRASH & RECYCLING Trash and Recycling pickup is on Thursday's (unless it falls on a holiday week).
SAFETY & SECURITY The home is armed with August lock which can be accessed via the Vrbo app. All rooms are equipped with smoke & carbon sensors. Fire extinguisher and first aid kit are available.
For your safety and the safety of others, surveillance cameras are installed in the front of the property. There are 2 Blink cameras facing the front breezeway and garage, and one by the service gate on the casita exterior. Recordings remain private and may be used for liability reasons and to monitor occupancy and other policies noted here. It in no way infringes upon the expectation of privacy in these public areas and conforms with Vrbo policies.
OCCUPANCY, PARTIES & EVENTS We do NOT allow large gatherings, parties or events. Maximum night-time occupancy is 6 (including adults and children), daytime is 6 (including adults and children) . No more than 3 vehicles can be parked on or near the property at anytime (including overnight guests). Unauthorized or over-occupancy is charged at $100 per person per night for all occupants and may result in further charges, including forfeiture of rental charges and security deposit per House Rules.
PHOTO & FILM SHOOTS All photo & film shoots require prior written consent including location agreement and are subject rates starting from $2,000 for photo shoots, $3,000 for film shoots. If you are planning to shoot on property or bring professional camera equipment you must let us know prior to arrival.
