Aging but classic hotel. Also big wedding venue so can be busy and noisy at times. Good restaurant choices on site; free breakfast was very good. Some tech issues with internet access and notifications.. got a link to check out 2 days after we left! TV's need updating. Overall would definitely recommend for a short stay.

We have been going to this hotel once or twice a year to visit relatives and spend time in New York City for many years. The rooms are always clean, the staff efficient and helpful. We take the NJT train to NYC (it is walking distance to the hotel) so no need to find a parking spot, trains run often and drop you at Penn Station. Their breakfast buffet (included) is real scrambled eggs, beverages, cereals, toaster items and pastries, always so much better than the usual fare at 'franchise' motels and food and beverage at the attached Red Dog tavern is also superior.

Love the Madison! We got married here years ago and it’s been renovated in the last few years. It’s beautiful, convenient, and the staff is great. Breakfast is yummy every morning. Happy wine hour daily. Train to NYC in the parking lot. Madison is a beautiful town 5 mins away. The best!!!

Room service never answered the phone. Hotel was boutique - chic. Older but super clean. Rooms updated. Most uncomfortable pillows I’ve ever had and the hardest bed ever. Breakfast wasn’t bad. Good selection! I would not go back if they have the same pillows and beds.

Nearby Train Station and rail crossing requires trains approaching to sound their horn while approaching railroad crossing. Commuter trains run about every hour and quite late and start early in the morning. Earplugs are suggested for staying in rooms near the north end (facing the Convent Station) of the building. Breakfast in the morning is most enjoyable in tje main lobby area setting.
