Getting around Pattaya

As is the case across Thailand, you’ve got numerous options for getting around Pattaya. Much of the transportation is very cheap, but varies in speed and comfort. The classic form of local transit is the songthaew, also known as the baht bus, which is a pickup truck with a metal roof bolted on top. For more personal space jump on the back of a motorbike taxi, or take a taxi for the most comfortable ride. Visit the Department of Land TransportOpens in a new window website.Browse Pattaya rental cars.

Best time to visit

You’re never likely to feel chilly in Pattaya, with average high temperatures around the late 80s F (early 30s C) throughout the year. May to October is the rainy season, which puts many travelers off; however, thunderstorms are often over quickly, and you can get great hotel deals at this time of year. The rest of the year is the dry season, when you’ll have more competition for space on the beach.
