My stay at the Villas at Hatteras Landing was a complete disaster. Our ferry from Cedar Island to Ocracoke was delayed, causing us to miss our check-in deadline of 8 pm. When we finally arrived at the hotel after 8 pm, we discovered that the check-in office was closed and a note on the door instructed us to call the after-hours number. However, this was not the case. When I called the number, no one answered. I navigated through the automated prompts and was on hold for an hour, unable to speak to anyone to check in. Even the emergency prompt went unanswered.
This situation was particularly challenging for my 89-year-old mother-in-law, who was traveling with me. We had to hastily find another hotel to stay in due to the inconvenience caused by the hotel’s check-in process.
To prevent similar issues in the future, I kindly request that you revise your confirmation email. Please ensure that the statement “Please check in between 8 am and 8 pm or call between these times to make alternate arrangements” is prominently displayed at the very top of the email.
