9/10 Wonderful! (988 reviews)
This historic property is worn, but it may be getting updated. Our very large room had a comfortably sized newly renovated bathroom, but it seemed to have been designed by a 15 year-old boy with extremely limited experience actually using a bathroom for grooming purposes. There was a small but adequate corner sink with tall narrow mirrors on each side set at a 90 degree angle. It was impossible to get a view of one's face that didn't have a big line down the middle. Also, because of the placement of a shelf and towel bar it was almost impossible to use the hairdryer in a way to see oneself in the full length mirror on the back of the bathroom door.
Our room was large and could easily have accommodated two small chairs and a table. It had no coffee maker, no refrigerator and only one chair. Bed was comfortable.
Our reservation included a $25 credit for food or beverages in the restaurant. We were unable to find any restaurant, there were no signs. Next morning we found a closed bar with 5 or 6 tables set for a meal. There was nothing in the hotel open for breakfast. There was an empty coffee carafe in the lobby with no milk or sugar packets and a tray that had some crumbs on it, so presumably somebody got muffins or something. We just left.
When staff has no experience staying in a hotel and little training it puts the onus on the guest to ask for everything. That's a drag. Stay was disappointing.
