"Honeymooning in italy"
This was the fourth out of six locations on our honeymoon. We had booked a Deluxe double with a terrace and at arrival they upgraded us to a Junior Suite. The Suite had an amazing balcony but there was no view from inside the room making it slightly depressing. After staying in the suite for one night we requested the staff to change us to a room which had a view from the bed. They showed us two rooms and we moved into a deluxe room with a terrace which was slightly smaller but we loved because of the stunning view which we could see directly from our bed. It is an excellent hotel with very old school charm to it.

"Beautiful Hotel with Amazing Views"
We loved this hotel from top to bottom. The staff were incredibly helpful and were able to book us transports to Naples as well as get us reservations at any restaurant we asked. The hotel itself is extremely close to the pier and offers amazing views of the main port and village. The breakfast served on the balcony was first class and the best breakfast we had during our entire Italy trip. The rooms were massive and a nice change from the smaller rooms we stayed in in other places. Overall very happy with this place. The only downfall was a weird smell in the hallways and room that just wouldn't go away. Because everything else was so amazing it made it easy to handle. The bathrooms were also so clean and big. The rain shower was perfect!

"Wonderful Stay at Villa Fiorentine"
Beautifully situated with wonderful views Positano coastline. We were greeted by gracious staff and felt part of the family immediately. The upper deck with pool is tranquil and was the perfect place to rest our traveling bones with a drink and light meal. Our room (Primavera) was spacious and had a private balcony overlooking the town and ocean. Just gorgeous for our 2 day stay in Positano.

"The best of the best "
I have been lucky enough to stay in a lot of beuatiful places, but this stay was unbeatable because of the family who lives there. Angelo is the best, so kind and helpful. He had cold water waiting for us at the top of the stairs when we arrived. Melania provided warm croissants with chocolate, fresh cappuccinos, juices and fruits and jellies from their garden for breakfast on our terrace the first morning. It was like a dream! Angelo told us about a great beach and some nice restaurants nearby. For our second day, we wanted to leave super early for a hike so I thought we would have to miss out on breakfast but Angelo insisted on bringing it for us at 7 am! When we would come or go we got to see two pups who lived there, it made being away from our pups a little easier. That evening we asked to have dinner in our room and it was so wonderful, bruchetta, homemade cannelloni, chocolate lava cake and organic wine all with our perfect view of the sunset. I got bit by a mosquito while taking pictures on the terrace and Angelo was there two minutes later with bug spray. I was stressed out because I booked our train back to Milan way earlier than any public transportation could get us to Naples. Of course however because of Angelo at 7:30 the next morning we had full bellies and a Mercedes waiting to drive us all the way to Naples to catch our train. Angelo, you and your family are amazing and we won't forget your kindness.

Location was great for us (late 20s couple) some older people may not appreciate the amount of stairs up from the beach (they can get the bus) Nice spacious room, comfy beds. What really made this stay amazing was our host Peter, he organised parking for us upon our arrival, prepared a beautiful breakfast on our balcony every morning, he asked us about our day and tried to give his input into how best to spend our time to maximise our Positano experience. Highly recommend this place, you wont regret it.

"beautiful hotel with white finishings "
Close to the beach, beautiful; had a hard time finding it, though- hotel's directions weren't very clear and also didn't give directions from the port (ferry boat), which is the way we arrived there. Breakfast included was pretty good spread; would have liked a few more choices, but the hotel made you specialty coffee if you wanted it (cafe latte, cappuccino, etc). They let us keep our luggage there for a while after we checked out and let us hang out in the lobby, too.

"I hated to leave!"
Because I waited until so late to book my Positano hotel, I had no choice but to reserve a suite at Villa Rosa. Poor me! I'm so glad I did. My suite was wonderful with incredibly high ceilings, a sea view terrace where I enjoyed breakfast every morning and in the evenings watched the people at Franco's, the hot spot directly across the street and part of Le Sirenuse so I knew when to scurry over and grab a table before it filled. There was a big jacuzzi bath and separate shower (which could have been larger) in the spacious bathroom, slippers and a robe. The bed was comfortable, as were the little beds close to the window and where I napped before going out for dinner. The location is perfect, right in the middle of Positano. The staff was great as far as making sure I knew the best way to arrive at the hotel, arranging for transportation of my bags to and from the dock since I took the ferry, making ferry reservations for me, a lunch reservation as well and just chatting with me as well. Everyone was very friendly! I work out regularly so I welcomed all of the steps to my third-floor suite. It was a good way to work off the pasta and wine, plus Villa Rosa is such a grand hotel that it was nice to walk the steps. I miss the fragrance from the lilies in the lobby. I hope I have a chance to stay at this hotel again -- and in this suite as well.

Pocket Guide: Italy Positano Independent Hotels

A desirably picturesque tourist haunt, Moorish-style houses cling to Positano’s steep hillsides. It’s a pleasant walk down to the small grey beach and fishing harbour via narrow, flower-decked alleyways and steps, but the return journey takes some effort (luckily there’s a bus). A domed church is Positano’s main landmark. The town celebrates the Feast of the Assumption on 15th August by re-enacting a famous victory against the Saracens.
