"We were impressed by the attention to detail! The host stocked the kitchen with essentials, food, and drinks. The amenities were top-notch. The house was super clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable. The host’s guidebook was super helpful. The host definitely went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home. "What a wonderful place to stay. A really great house that makes you feel a part of colonial history surrounded by a beautiful forest, English garden and a fun hiking trail from the front door. Cliff and Joy couldn't have been more gracious. Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown , Yorktown and the historic plantations are a short drive and ferry away. This is a amazing house a very unique stay"

"Get away from the hustle and bustle of Williamsburg and stay here! A very seamless and quick (free) car ferry ride across the James to get to Busch Gardens and Jamestown. This place is great for families. There is even a basketball hoops the kids enjoyed! Lots of space to move and very quiet and serene. We tried 2/3 restaurants in town, both good. "We traveled with friends and our kids and loved this place. There was plenty of room for all of us. The deck was also great to sit out on. The weather wasn’t great when we stayed so we didn’t get to use most of the amenities the resort offers but the indoor pool and hot tubs were great. Breakfast in the restaurant was wonderful and the coffee in the coffee shop was great too. We will definitely be back in the future."

"What an absolute fantastic weekend in Va. My son is a Marine stationed at Fort Greg-Adams. He was given his 96hr leave for the Holiday weekend. We found this gem of a home in rural Va. The home is spacious and very clean. There are amazing amenities. Washer/dryer, front deck, bar-b-que handicap accessible door. Just a great home for a weekend. If you are a history buff it is double the bonus. There are plenty of Civil war trails to explore. Everything about the house and stay is an A++++++++++....

"Very cool old house, in the middle of everything. Rob and Larkin were very responsive, and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was top notch. "On arrival at the property it was obvious that the exterior and gardens were not well cared for at all. Dirty windows, weeds and many spider webs and cobwebs. The interior was extremely well equipped and very spacious, however on further inspection we could see that the house was pretty grubby, especially the kitchen where cupboards and drawers had to be cleaned before use. "We stayed at The Berkeley for the first time, and it was a wonderful experience. Parking was easy - we were able to find street parking (not monitored over the weekend days), but the staff said they would be available to assist with valet in the instance we were unable to find any parking on the street nearby. The staff was wonderful. Everyone from the cleaning crew to the front desk was pleasant and helpful. Our room was spacious and clean and had an acceptable amount of wear and tear that you'd expect from a hotel this age. You can't beat the price and location - we will definitely be back for another stay the next time we're in town."
