Um 1085, zur Zeit der Klostergründung durch Herzog Welf I wurde bereits eine romanische, dreischiffige Basilika mit Querschiff und Flachdach errichtet. Mitte des 15 Jhd wurde die Kirche durch den Baumeister Hansen erstmals umgebaut. Heute ist die Kirche eine dreischiffige Basilika, mit freistehenden Glockenturm und romanischen Grundriss. Die architektonischen Proportionen sind Gotisch. Im Innenraum verschmelzen die Stilrichtungen des Rokoko, der Gotik und der Romantik. The staff was absolutely amazing and helpful, they made the stay comfortable and enjoyable. The room was very nice and clean with a beautiful view. Breakfast was vast and delicious with a various selection of local/international cuisine. Definitely coming back.
