Helen and Claire made me welcome and went above and beyond, recommending walks and providing me with everyhing to make the most of a short stay. I would highly recommend this cottage and location. "We absolutely loved our stay at Olive, it has a lovely big secure garden which was great for our dog. The actual cottage is lovely, a perfect sized space with everything you need to just relax and enjoy time there. The shower is phenomenal! The area has lots of good walks, ideal if you have a dog, we were out for 3 hours on some days. We would definitely stay again."

"It had all the comforts of a home! Full kitchen, TV with plenty of channels to choose from; electric fireplace; very cozy. Quiet location, met friendly people at both local pubs. Landlord was easily available and helpful. Bedding was too warm for us. Would have liked a lighter comforter or blanket and a small bar of hand soap in the bathroom. "

"Great hotel, clean, lovely communal areas and great bedroom. The music on entering the hotel was extremely loud due to a wedding party, so loud we couldn’t hear the member or staff on check in. Luckily this didn’t affect us as we were out all evening but had we planned to stay in the hotel, this would have been an issue "

"The location of this hotel is excellent, at first sight it appears fantastic but it is a little tired. The member of staff who greeted us was a little abrupt which took me a little bit by surprise, when I asked about and whether I needed to book she said yes, but there isn’t many slots left. That felt a little odd as our room included breakfast, we did book breakfast, she then asked if we had stayed before, we hadn’t, so she explained about how to get to the spa. Our room was a little tired but clean and large. The shower/water in this hotel is extremely hot so I would say be a bit careful. In the morning we went down to breakfast, it was buffet style and ok, plenty of seating. The staff were lovely and friendly, couldn’t be more helpful. The spa is basic but nice if you want a quick swim, sauna and steam, then perfect. Overall an ok stay for the money we paid for the centre of Chester."

"Great location right next to the station and an easy walk into the city centre. The ground floor has been nicely refurbished and makes a good first impression. Some investment has clearly gone into the rooms too (new taps etc.), but they don’t feel finished to the same standard. The bathroom in particular felt a little tired – the silicone around the shower was messy and old, the toilet didn’t flush easily, and the extractor fan was very loud. Overall a good stay in a great location, but the rooms could benefit from a bit more attention to detail."
