"I found the hotel was very handy with the 24 hour desk especially as flight was delayed and missed the last train to Lucca and had to get a taxi. Staff was friendly and the rooms were clean and airy. Would highly recommend"

"We enjoyed our stay very much and in particular appreciated all the help we received from the receptionists and Vanessa in the bar. Lovely pool area and very good breakfast. It is necessary to have your own transport. "

The best part of the hotel was the pool and landscape around the hotel. The food at the restaurant was ok. The only downside of our stay was the drunk British man who couldn't find his room and woke us up at 3 am by sticking his head through our bedroom window looking for his girlfriend.

This property is without a doubt among your top listings. The location is delightful and 15 mins. away from Lucca city center. In other words, have fun in the main city but relax and fully enjoy this pearl in the outskirts of the city.
The room was clean and comfortable to my satisfaction. The owner and his wife are professional and kind above all standards (they also booked for me a late-night dinner in the best restaurant of the area).

Hotel Villa Casanova was one of the highlights of our trip to Tuscany!
Everything about this place was special. The rooms are incredibly spacious, with a huge comfortable bed, huge shower, and enormous soaking tub. The attention to detail throughout the property is exceptional.
The views from the pool and our room balcony were stunning, overlooking the mountains and valleys of Tuscany. It was the perfect place to slow down and enjoy the scenery.

Short walk to walled city, safe neighborhood but most of all fantastic staff. I have never seen a group of people that are so kind, helpful and willing to do anything for their customers. We had an incident that required an ambulance in the very early hours of the morning. The night desk shift manager took such good care of us, calling ambulance, explaining to us in English what was going to happen. The hotel even sent an English speaking employee to the hospital via bike to check on us and...

Just had 24 hours to spend in Lucca. It was a great stay, the staff was very helpful from the moment we arrived. Franco, who took us to our room doubles as the hotel bartender at night. We enjoyed his company while we had a pre and post dinner aperitif. The hotel was perfectly located, easy access off the A11, shopping starts as you make a right out of the front door. The room was bigger than we expected, bed was very comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was wonderful. Had a delicious and...

This is not a picture-postcard villa with glorious views in the heart of town. It's a super-clean, well-managed, airy, Best Western with free parking, helpful staff, good restaurant, free internet, and fine breakfast, 10 minutes by car from Lucca and a good jumping-off base for driving to other sites in the area. Good value for the money.

The ambiance of Armonia Hotel goes beyond its well appointed lobby and the warm greetings of the caring and efficient reception staff. The La Monastica resort was a wonderful place with a staff who were exceptionally welcoming, pleasant and helpful. The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. The location and grounds were beautiful with some modern influences in decor but really maintaining the overall old world charm and aesthetic of the monastery. We really enjoyed time in the bar playing cards and drinking some great cocktails.

The staff couldn’t have been kinder or more helpful. The property is so unique and we loved our loft room that had plenty of space for our family of 5. Highly recommend taking the bikes they have available to ride around the city. One of our trip highlights!

The hotel is located very near the autostrade and outside the walled city. Access is easy and direct. Staff were multi lingual and friendly. English was not a problem. Parking is free. Breakfast is served as a buffet and you do need to notify if you intend to partake. It is 13euros. There is a good variety, but it is the same every day. There is an espresso/coffee machine. Nothing available to order.

The hotel is outside the city center in a mixed residential-commercial neighborhood. It seems to be pitched to commercial travelers rather than tourists and for that reason emphasizes functionality over quaint charm but sometimes a tourist needs functionality.

The best area to stay in Ruota is within the historic village center, particularly around the main piazza or along the Strada Provinciale di Ruota.
This charming area is the heart of Ruota, characterized by its traditional stone buildings, narrow alleys, and the peaceful ambiance of a true Tuscan village. The main piazza often features a local cafe or trattoria, serving as a gathering spot for residents. Many accommodations here are restored historic homes or villas, offering an authentic experience. Couples will find this area especially appealing for its romantic setting and the opportunity to enjoy quiet evenings.
For those seeking a more secluded and private experience, the areas immediately surrounding the village center, often referred to as the "countryside," provide excellent options. These properties, typically renovated farmhouses or villas, offer expansive views of the Tuscan landscape, vineyards, and olive groves. They often come with private pools and ample outdoor space, making them ideal for families or groups looking for a relaxing retreat.
When is the best time to go to Ruota?
While Ruota, Tuscany, Italy is a delightful destination year-round, the best times to visit are during the spring (April to June) and fall (September to October) for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.
Spring in Ruota brings comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 55°F to 75°F (13°C to 24°C). The Tuscan countryside is lush and green during this period, with wildflowers in bloom, creating picturesque scenery great for leisurely drives or walks. This season is ideal for couples seeking a romantic escape, as the vineyards and olive groves are particularly beautiful, and outdoor dining is enjoyable without the intense summer heat.
The fall months also offer excellent conditions, with temperatures usually between 60°F and 70°F (15°C to 21°C). This is harvest season, meaning you can experience local wine festivals and observe grape and olive picking. The autumn foliage adds a rich palette of colors to the landscape. Foodies will appreciate visiting during this time, as local trattorias feature seasonal ingredients like truffles and fresh olive oil.
While summer (July and August) is popular, it can be quite hot, often exceeding 85°F (30°C), and tourist attractions are more crowded.
