"This is a lovely small hotel with wonderful staff (particularly Josepe and Stefana). At the time we were there there was also a suited gentleman who was apparently a Director who hung around in reception looking very austere and unwelcoming. Unfortunately we were not able to use the pool, which was one of the reasons we chose the hotel, and there were no streaming channels available on the television, only Italian ones. We would return for the convenience, location and excellent staff."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in San Giovanni?
The best area to stay in San Giovanni is the heart of its historic center, particularly around Piazza Cavour and the Corso Italia.

This central area is the town's main public space, featuring the Palazzo d'Arnolfo and the Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie. It's very walkable, with shops, cafes, and trattorias lining the Corso Italia, making it easy to stroll and explore. Couples will appreciate the relaxed pace and the opportunity to enjoy authentic Tuscan daily life.

For travelers who appreciate a quieter setting with convenient access to the surrounding countryside, look for accommodations slightly outside the immediate historic center but still within walking distance. These areas often provide views of the Tuscan hills and offer a more residential feel, while still being close enough to easily access the town's amenities.
When is the best time to go to San Giovanni?
The best times to visit San Giovanni are during the spring (April to early June) and autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the region is less crowded.

For those who enjoy touring vineyards and olive groves, spring offers mild temperatures and blooming landscapes. It's an ideal time for leisurely drives through the countryside and exploring local towns without the peak summer crowds.

Autumn is great for travelers interested in culinary experiences and local festivals. This is harvest season, so you can participate in grape harvesting, olive oil tastings, and enjoy fresh, seasonal produce.
Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?
You can cancel your hotel reservation on Expedia, though it depends on the cancellation policy of your booking. Most bookings are refundable if canceled within 24-48 hours of the scheduled arrival. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. If free cancellation is available, you can cancel directly through your Expedia account by logging in, going to "My Trips", and selecting your reservation. To find flexible deals, filter your search by "Fully refundable property" for hotels in San Giovanni.
