What I didn't anticipate was leaving with a renewed faith in my fellow human beings.The cabin is extraordinary — a to-scale replica of the Walden dwelling, built with the kind of care that tells you the owners understand why it matters, not just what it looks like. But the cabin is almost beside the point once you step onto the grounds. This is a working farm with life……

“The split unit AC made a giant half an inch deep puddle in front of my door which caused me to track water in my room despite my best efforts and this made for a nearly deadly slippery situation... The Wi-Fi did not work 90% of the time nor did the remote to the TV. This place is filled with destitute people and families seeking refuge. They all kept to themselves but it really added to the downtrodden destitution of the place. Had the room been 60 or $70? It would have been fair 50$ and it……

The place was darling and very clean, no dust bunnies here! We were just there one night, but slept comfortably. We will definitely stay here again next time we come to Martinsville.”
