I love everything about this hotel… my friend and I were seeing an evening show at the Gogue theater and wanted to go out and get drinks later (maybe listen to some jazz at the Piccolo) and didn’t want to have to get back in the road to Montgomery. We were walking distance to fabulous venues outside of the already wonderful restaurant and bar and jazz club right in the hotel! Our night stay was so comfortable and breakfast the next morning at the hotel restaurant the Ariccia was divine!! Then we spent the rest of the late morning and afternoon at the spa at the Laurel!! From the valet drivers to the wonderful staff that greeted us to the snacks on the executive floor we had a splendid time!! I felt like we had a vacation and just 50 miles up the road!!!

When I arrived at 3:30 p.m., the staff informed me they could not check me in until 4:00 p.m. I came back at 4:15 p.m. and was informed that their cleaning staff had not made up any of the rooms and that there was no room available. They also told me that they could not give me a firm time for the room to be available. Since I had another appointment within an hour, I told them that I could not wait. To their credit, they offered to refund the money I had prepaid through Hotels.com, and wrote me a letter confirming that they would do so. They also connected me with another hotel that still had rooms available at a higher price and without the king bed for which I had paid. Several other guests also had the same problem while I was standing there. I would not reserve a room at this hotel again. While the building looked appealing, the fact that they lacked reliable cleaning services and had not been able to make any rooms available in the late afternoon was and is not acceptable.

Love the rooftop bar and restaurant. Easy walk to campus. Comfortable bed. All good!

When we arrived late afternoon there was a note attached to the front door directing us to our room and that they were busy with another client, but did supply a number to call. Our room door was wide open with the keys laying on a table. We did try to call to ask about the wifi and breakfast. We received a text, 3 hours later, with the wifi info and that we were not getting breakfast or coffee as it was not included. I understand about breakfast, but no coffee? There was no TV's anywhere and I do not remember seeing that on the site, but I may have overlooked. The house itself was nice, historical, but we were not overwhelmed by it, nor the lack of attention to customers by the owners. Very overpriced for what you get.
