Once a mining village, Shotton Colliery now offers family-friendly thrills at Karting North East and Adventure Valley just minutes away. Take a short drive to admire Durham Cathedral's magnificent architecture or feel sand between your toes at nearby Seaton Carew Beach.
Everybody at the property was very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was excellent great choice. And you would be Renz not to eat in the restaurant there. It is very popular with many of the locals and there is a reason for that. The food is excellent. There are great portions and it is nice just to sit in a cozy English pub to eat.

Only spent one night but a good stay. Staff very nice. Even participated in a pub quiz night. Loved the fact that a bar and restaurant on site. Plenty of parking.

Lovely property, excellent staff. We did have a problem with our original room which had a rather strange smell, this was quickly dealt with by the front desk staff and we were relocated to another room which was lovely. We had dinner at the hotel and the food was delicious, service good and staff friendly. I would stay here again if I was in the area.
