It's no secret Atlantic City has taken a nose dive in the last 10 years or so, it's gotten scary out there.
But alas gentle reader there is the Oasis called the Borgata build away from the decay of the Boardwalk.

Stayed here for 2 nights on a girls' weekend out. You can tell the hotel is an old shady motel-type of building that was very haphazardly "renovated" (ie. slapped silver paint on old ugly dresser, for example)
If you're looking for a place to crash and not spend too much time in, it's OK.
The restaurant downstairs was nice.

Thought it was a little strange that check in was 4 pm and then when asked if I could postpone check out (normal time of 11am) the following day an hour that I was told they don't offer that during the summer ...on a Monday. Other than that staff was friendly and place was clean.

The hotel was quiet which was great. We reserved a basic suite with 2 double beds which did not include a couch. This was not going to work for us since it was me, my husband, my sister-in-law and my 19 year old son. My husband asked if we could switch and we then got a room with a couch. The problem with this second room is that there was a leak in the ceiling in the bathroom. So we called maintenance and they got us into a new third room. This room had a couch and was great. We still had an ocean view and the lighting was better in the room. It was also convenient that the room had a kitchenette even though we didn't use it.

Hotel room always clean and comfortable when we go but last room was facing parking garage and you can hear cars reving engines on occasion. Also last time we stayed rugs in hallway outside room being vacuumed at 10 am. We were up so didn't matter but if I had late night I wouldn't been happy considering check out is 12p. I would still try staying again

Would recommend a couple of things: 1) move the AC to a different window, it directly blows on the bed, 2) need more shelf space in the bathrooms for toiletries, 3) need ceiling fans in the bathrooms. Meggan is a real asset.
