Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Somerset?
The best time to visit Somerset, South Australia, is during the shoulder seasons of autumn (March to May) and spring (September to November).

These months offer pleasant weather with moderate temperatures, making it ideal for outdoor activities like exploring the coastal trails or enjoying the local vineyards without the extreme heat of summer or the cooler, wetter conditions of winter. You'll find a comfortable balance for sightseeing and relaxation.

For travelers who prefer a quieter experience and are interested in culinary delights, autumn is particularly appealing. This period coincides with the grape harvest, offering opportunities for wine tastings and local food festivals. The natural scenery also transforms with beautiful fall colors, ideal for couples seeking a romantic getaway.

Families often find spring to be an excellent time to visit. The weather is warm enough for beach activities and exploring wildlife parks, and the blooming wildflowers add an extra layer of beauty to the landscape.
