“★☆☆☆☆ – A Distressing Experience I Would Never Wish on Another Traveller I booked this property through Expedia for one night and, before travelling, emailed the owners several times to explain that I would be arriving with my trained psychiatric assistance dog. Every email was ignored. Had they simply replied before I travelled, I would have cancelled my booking and stayed elsewhere. Instead, I travelled to the property alone with four suitcases, only to be told on arrival, "We don't allow……

“Expedia listed the square footage of the room as 560 ft.² but the room was probably less than 100 sq ft. It was false advertising and I was very upset. I reported it to the man who worked there and he said he was contacting Expedia about it but nothing was done about it and he never called me back. Also, there was no mattress pad on the bed just a sheet. Also in the pictures they show a small grassy area with a picnic table, but that’s only available if you book the garden room. I wasn’t……

“It was fine for my needs. Just wanted access to a restaurant and a room with comfortable bed and AC. The light didn’t work in the bathroom but I also didn’t complain to anyone about either. Staff was friendly and helpful enough. Nothing fancy. I was there for short term study.”

“A very comfortable country pub, with great food, top chef and well kept beer. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. My room was a tad small and basic but the bathroom was modern and hey this is a 16th century building and I enjoyed my stay.”

“Very nice place, the only downside is there were no blackout curtains. So in June, we were woken up very early by the light. Also from the children going to the school right next door. Other than that bed was comfy, very clean and had a very nice welcoming.”
