This was one of the best stops on our pan-Florida family road trip. Bear in mind that if you’re looking for the Ritz-Carlton, this is not that, but that’s part of why we liked it so much. Very family-friendly hippie sort of feel, super friendly service and RIGHT in the middle of everything. We were able to park our car in one of their spaces (and parking in St Augustine is an elusive fairy as is, never mind overnight) and walk everywhere in the historic district without moving the car. Jenny texted us to see when we’d be arriving so that she could meet us and let us know where to park, and she made us personalized pancakes in the morning. It’s not easy to be a one-person show and be so hospitable but she was stellar. Our 6-year-old was very excited to wear her pirate hat and we loved the themed room - the only blemish for me was that the water pressure for the shower was very low and the water temperature took a very long time to regulate (I need more showers than the average bear), but I also understand that upgrading plumbing is a major and expensive undertaking. It does have that youth hostel slash bed and breakfast feel (from what I understand they used to also be a hostel) so if you’re good with that, this is a great spot. Amazing deal for the location and parking.
