Feels a bit dated in places, inc the bathrooms, but perfectly clean and well placed in Tarbert. Walls are a little thin - the chap snoring next door was heard quite clearly!

Staff very helpful and able to deal with all questions. Good breakfast made to order and very good dinner in hotel restaurant. Free parking is available all along the street; all local amenities are easily accessible on foot. The internal fabric of the hotel is rather tired and worn, and would benefit from some refurbishment; fixtures and fittings show some - largely cosmetic - wear and tear which might be better maintained. This would make it more aesthetically attractive.

The location is good and staff were pleasant. The hotel I felt was lacking in the maintenance, paint could have been refreshed and my sink had a big crack in it. Although the bed was clean, I felt like the bathroom could do with a deep clean around the shower etc. Breakfast was fine, good enough but nothing special.

The greatest assets to the hotel are the staff. We came across two lovely members of staff who were great. Breakfast was good with also a varied choice with local produce, straight out of Loch Fyne. Parking is directly opposite and free. Tarbert is a bit tired like lots of British resorts but is a charming little place and perfect for a one or two night stay.

The Anchor was a convenient stay for us as we needed to be close to the ferry to take us to Isla. The staff were very pleasant and check-in was easy. Parking was across the street and convenient as well. The rooms are very small and dated but clean and comfortable. There is a pub next door and many people were enjoying the World Cup so it got pretty noisy but we were able to sleep. We had a fabulous dinner in the Anchor's restaurant. I have a shellfish allergy and they were able to accommodate. Tarbert is a wee fishing town so there isn't much going on but we enjoyed walking around and climbed the hill to see the old castle which gave spectacular views. We wandered in a few shops and had nice chats with everyone. Breakfast was spectacular and we left for Isla well rested and ready for our journey. Thank you!
