“This is an amazing hotel that has been lovingly furnished using local art and an eye for design and colour. It is not only comfortable, but also just a nice space to be in. I was upgraded to a suite at no extra cost, and the extra space and amenities was a real treat. I had my evening meal there. The food was delicious. The staff were all super friendly and helpful.”

“Battaramulla is a much underrated destination in Sri Lanka. Near to everything that Colombo has to offer but with its own unique identity and a beautiful lake and wetland reserve area, the town is worth considering as your base when visiting Sri Lanka - and nowhere is more welcoming, comfortable or hospitable than Villa 53. The hosts - Sriyantha and Champie - went way, way beyond the call of duty to make our stay both memorable and productive. Nothing was too much trouble for them or their team……

“We had a late flight arriving into Colombo - so checked in for 1 night only. Room was fairly big but we had issue with the bathroom door which was difficult to slide in and out. Breakfast was a buffet with good options.”

“Its a sound enough hotel for the business traveler but otherwise pretty ordinary. It's in a shabby part of town with no local ameities or attractions worth the bother. The bar is dismal and the restaurant poor. The staff do a good job of making the best of the little they have to wotk with.”

“The room we booked was very spacious and all all amenities. They provide water bottles and cleaning every day. The staff is very friendly. Hotel has a restaurant and nice small pool. Laundry and cleaning services at reasonable price. Overall a very good hotel for single travelers or with family. Cons:- Some of the equipment is old - TV, Microwave not available in rooms.”
