There you will find two large decks over the river and sitting areas along the river. This area is absolutely breathtaking! The Southfork River is beautiful all year round. Like all natural rivers the Rivers has high seasons and low. In the spring and early summer it is high and fast moving. As summer wanes the river slows and lower but never completely dies up. We are fortunate to have water year round so you will always enjoy the soothing sounds of the river. Children must be chaperone at all time especially near the river. Please be cautious of current, especially during winter and early spring. (The 2 decks are located at the river area. The river area where the decks are is just a short stroll from the house and shared with only one other home)

Centrally located, the house is about twenty minutes drive to the main entrance to Sequoia National Park station and both Slick Rock recreation areas and King’s Canyon National Park, and just a 10 minutes from Three Rivers town restaurants and shops. A nature lovers paradise, there are plenty of areas to hike, bike, fish, and swim; and during the summer months, world-class white-water rafting and kayaking. Lake Kaweah, surrounded by the golden hills of California’s lower Sierra Nevada mountains, is just five miles downstream and a hot spot for boating and fishing.

Fabulous, nature lovers retreat. Loved sitting on the deck reading, listening to the sounds of the River. The little house was very comfortable, clean, and spacious for my husband and I. We went to Sequoia & Kings Canyon and wished we would have stayed a couple more days just to enjoy the Little house. The management team was very professional and very helpful. Wish we could give the place more stars.
It was a great, comfortable stay. Images a bit misleading, we thought the river balcony was right on the river not a walk away. Overall a great stay anyway.

The property was just as described! Cute small and cozy cabin with a nice walk to the creek. I’m a clean freak and this property was extremely clean. It had everything we needed for a short stay and communication with the host was great. Easy check-in and clear instructions. Would love to stay again!
Had a wonderful stay! Host even have us ideas for our trip which made planning a breeze! We had lots of privacy and the decks by the river are wonderful! Highly recommend this place and would definitely come back again!
I highly recommend these cabin, very clean and organized. Loved the place and surroundings. The communication with the property management was excellent, definitely helped us a lot, very satisfied with their service.
Host was an excellent communicator before during and after our trip! House was super clean. Spacious for the two of us. Super remote/quiet and the river is a close walk. Would definitely stay again! Oh and the PacMan game was a bonus :)
We had a such a great time it was a great location. It just had everything there and everything was modern. It had games inside an order for the kids to play at night. They had the river and it was such a quiet if you had room to just go walking and relaxing it was such an amazing stay definitely booking again
River Retreat House is the perfect place for a getaway in nature. The cabin is accessible from town via a 15-20 minute drive along a gorgeous, quiet mountain road and feels very remote (no cell service for us!), but it is equipped with everything you would need. We had a lovely time enjoying the gorgeous river that is accessible from the property and didn't see another soul. We also enjoyed the use of the propane fire pit and incredible views of the starry night sky from the backyard. The town of Three Rivers is very quaint and has multiple places to eat, drink, and shop on your way in or out of town, and after a very short drive you can be at the entrance to Sequoia National Park! We highly recommend this cabin and hope to return someday.
Srey was incredibly responsive and informative. The retreat was spotless. Beautiful, but remote, location. Would be best if you plan on hanging out there for a good chunk of your trip - even not considering a line to get into the park the retreat is >1hr from General Sherman etc...
Stayed here with a couple of friends for a weekend exploring Sequoia and Kings Canyon. The space was just right and the outdoor areas are well thought out and comfortable to use. The seating by the river was beautiful for morning coffee. Communication and check-in were easy. Would definitely stay here again!
We rented this is to have a place to sleep and hangout between our adventures in Sequoia National Park. This property is less than 15 min from the visitors center. The cabin is clean, the beds are comfortable and the property is beautiful! I highly recommend staying here.
I advise checking in while it’s still daytime because the location is hard to find.
The property was very clean and updated. The decks along the river were a couple minutes walk from house and a great place to hangout and relax. The main attactions in Sequoia were 45 minutes to an hour away. Town of three rivers had a couple nice restaurant and Visalia is a short drive and has a nice down town. Had a wonderful stay at the property and would rent it again.
Beautiful property. Roughly 20 min from the park entrance, and a 1 min walk to the river behind the house. Plenty of food options, and 2 gas stations within 15 min. Will definitely come back in the future!
I'm not the best at taking vacations. I'm a worrier by nature but Srey made my trip stress-free. He was always available to me when i had questions or needed anything during the stay. Srey even helped us plan our trip several weeks in advance. As for the location itself, it was beautiful. We had a constant hum of the river and the stars were amazing at night. The house was clean and cozy. We used the BBQ and the stove for cooking and both worked great. The beds and couches were soft and comfortable. All of the linen and towels were also fresh and clean for us. I'm looking forward to my next trip to central California and have already talked with Srey about some of his other properties.
This little cabin made me feel I was away from civilization, exactly what I was looking for. There are a few houses around which is what I wanted! The three day stay was fenomenal, quiet, the sound of birds and the river flowing made it feel so relaxing. If you’re looking to escape the daily grind of the city, the his place is just for you! Sequoia National Park is also very close, like I said this place is very conveniently located!! Will definitely go back, thank you Srey!!
Exceeded expectations from entering driveway to the grounds, river and inside the home. Clean, fresh and comfortable, with everything thoughtfully appointed. Best features was the setting- River with patio type dock, trees and quiet setting. Each night we sat under the stars, and the river was our background music. Very resoratiive.
Other places around but cabin secluded. Clean inside. Path to river a bit overgrown, but decks on river were great. River was running a bit high but absolutely gorgeous! The river created a constant low roar in the background. Not far from the small town of Three Rivers and a short drive to the gate of Sequoia National Forest.
It was terribly difficult to find. Need better signage. Couldnt turn on the heater unless you disarmed the smoke detector. Bathroom faucets are backwards, toilet paper is behind you. What is that about? Sorry, but we have vacation rental property and I am much more particular about the experience our guests have. The water and decks in back were beautiful. The space was very clean.
There are several things that made this a really great experience. First is Srey, the property owner/manager. I have stayed in several VRBO’s over the years, and she is by far the best communicator I’ve interacted with. In addition, she provided a wealth of information about the area - restaurants, markets, things to do - that saved us a lot of time. The house itself is very clean, well maintained, and in a wooded, private setting. The nearby property, which Srey also owns, was not an issue. There were people staying there while we were there; we never heard or saw them. The river is a short walk away and can be heard from the house. The internet is good which was a pleasant surprise given the remote location. I look forward to staying here again.
