![My first attempt at a serious panorama of the Milky Way, our home galaxy. Cape Hatteras Lighthouse provides an ideal location since it faces the right direction to compose such a panorama while maintaining the balance in the image. 

This shot is composed of 6 vertical shots shot at 30 degrees of rotation and merged in Photoshop. Added to the usual difficulties of shooting and composing a panorama at night, this night was crazy hot with nighttime temperature in the mid 80s, no breeze and humidity so high that the lens had to be wiped after every exposure. On top of it, the mosquitoes had a field day running rings around me and no amount of bug spray helped. “The staff was friendly and the amenities were nice. We stayed in a 2 bedroom cottage and it was clean and had lots of space. It's nice to have a full kitchen. The washer and dryer were pretty small, but it was convenient to beable to wash swimsuits and things before heading home. The kids liked the mini golf and playground. The indoor pool was large and clean, but the water was pretty cold so we didn’t enjoy that as much as we thought. The resort was quiet and we would stay here again.”

“Location is very close to a cute town. Cabin was clean. However, property should really let guests know that pillows, blankets, sheets & towels are not given to you. We had to buy towels from Walmart to shower. Bathroom door really didn't close, sliding door required both hands to get mostly closed. Bathroom only contained a toliet & stand up shower, not enough room to use as a changing room. Definitely does not sleep 4 as noted for capacity. Picture of room is not even close to the size……

![My first attempt at a serious panorama of the Milky Way, our home galaxy. Cape Hatteras Lighthouse provides an ideal location since it faces the right direction to compose such a panorama while maintaining the balance in the image. 

This shot is composed of 6 vertical shots shot at 30 degrees of rotation and merged in Photoshop. Added to the usual difficulties of shooting and composing a panorama at night, this night was crazy hot with nighttime temperature in the mid 80s, no breeze and humidity so high that the lens had to be wiped after every exposure. On top of it, the mosquitoes had a field day running rings around me and no amount of bug spray helped.
