"Decent hotel with pool and beach front."
The hotel is an older facility (used to the Grafton Beach Resort). The pool area is fine with a swim up bar but the beach is rocky and unkempt. Internet service is best only in the lobby and pool area. The hotel is fine if all you want are decent facilities but it can use some maintenance.

"OK resort with nice (but small) beach."
Not a lot to do in Tobago but is good if you want a relaxing beach holiday. Food and alcohol at restaurants and stores were more expensive than we thought they would be (many are the same or even higher price compared to Canada!). Go to the Penny Saver grocery store (short taxi ride) to save some money if you want to stock up rather than eating/drinking in restaurants or at the Coco Reef resort all the time. Food/drink at Coco Reef resort is especially expensive but the buffet breakfast was included in our package. Not a lot of all-inclusives (if any?) in Tobago. All-inclusives elsewhere are better value - we have been to a dozen or so over the years. Coco Reef resort is not large, and is apparently one of the best resorts in Tobago which tells you the island has much more work to do to become a more tourist friendly destination. The airport being so close is surprisingly not noisy at all. Coco Reef resort was able to give us an early check-in and a late check-out which was REALLY helpful to us, since we arrived very early in the morning and left late at night.

"Excellent Spot!"
Beautiful location with private beach. Excellent room on newly built wing but the hotel needs to be better managed. Wi fi was non existent in the rooms despite numerous complaints . A dedicated spa and gym facilities are definitely needed.

"Nice Hotel with a beautiful view"
My fiancé and I had a really nice weekend getaway at Tropikist. Service at the front desk was pleasing. The room was clean and tidy, the bathroom was clean and ready with bath and hand towels. We had a ocean view room which was beautiful and captivating. Complimentary buffet breakfast was set on an ocean view verandah with staff ready to assist and the food was delicious.

"Quiet beach resort"
The resort was very nice. This resort is also part of the Bacolet Beach Club resort so there is access to that property as well. There were 3 pools (1at half moon, 2 at BBC) and a restaurant and beach bar. The beach access is private and secluded from all other users. The hotel room was very spacious and comfortable as well. The mattress was VERY firm, a little bit too firm for myself. As well, the wood floors and walls creak a lot and so you can hear all your neighbours. We were lucky to only have neighbours a couple of the nights we were there. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful with calling taxis for us to go to town. Overall, the stay was very nice and relaxing and I would consider staying there again.

    Best Time to Visit

For picture-perfect weather, travel to Tobago between January and May when skies are sunny all day long. Between June and December, afternoon showers are daily occurrences. Whenever you go, you'll enjoy low humidity and average temperatures in the low 80s, but if you're looking for cheap deals on hotels, you'll find lower rates during the rainy season. Book a resort in Tobago during the dry season and coordinate your dates with the Tobago International Game Fishing Tournament or the rollicking Buccoo Goat and Crab Race Festival. Even in the wet season, you'll need to book at least three months in advance as it's a popular time for European travelers. Add a little extra pizazz to your rainy season visit by booking during July's Heritage Festival, November's Diwali, or the colorful Emancipation Celebrations of July and August.

    Things to Do

Popular with snorkelers, divers, honeymooners, nature lovers, and anyone who loves endless outdoor recreation, Tobago has managed to hang onto its laid-back reputation. As befits a true island paradise, blissful stretches of sand are everywhere. Most popular is Pigeon Point with food kiosks, craft shops, diving concessions, and boat rentals. For a bit more serenity, head over to the north coast's charming Englishman's Bay or negotiate a lift with one of the local boatmen to spend an idyllic afternoon picnicking on the pink sands of Lover's Beach.

Tobago is one of the world's top snorkeling destinations, and underwater enthusiasts flock to these clear waters to float over unspoiled reefs, explore dramatic submarine caverns, and marvel at the coral gardens and brilliantly hued tropical fish of Buccoo Reef. Former ferryboat Maverick provides awesome wreck diving. Take a little break from seaside fun and play a few rounds of golf on breeze-swept championship greens, check out the intriguing exhibits of the Kimme Sculpture Museum, or take a glass-bottom boat tour to wildlife sanctuary Bird of Paradise Island. One of the island's many historic fortresses, Fort King George offers an excellent history break along with spectacular hilltop views of capital Scarborough.
