"The best thing about Gian’s villa is… Gian. What a wonderful host. On one evening he accompanied our family of 7 to a local food festival in a tiny medieval village. It was a magical evening. We also highly recommend the pasta class with Daniel. I’m typically a hard sell on group activities, but the evening was so much fun, and Daniel cooked and served us a wonderful meal - he needs to charge more! The villa itself feels rustic and authentic, but at the same time luxurious. The layout is perfect with 3 bedrooms on the main floor separated by a large kitchen that is totally kitted out, a comfy living room and dining tables inside and out. Our older kids and their partners stayed in the separate guest cottage and the 2-level tower room - everyone has complete privacy and yet can share the lovely common areas. The giant pool is spectacular, and the poolside mini-fridge super handy. The villa’s location at the top of a ridge offers beautiful views in all directions - we could see four hilltop towns! Todi is a wonderfully preserved medieval town that feels lived in rather than touristy, full of Italian families wandering in the evening. There are lots of excellent restaurants with terraces - we especially enjoyed Osteria del duomo at the foot of the duomo stairs, opened last year by two young chefs from Tuscany. For provisions, Gian will point you in the direction of the butcher and the excellent Emi Supermercado. What a fantastic week! Thank you Gian. The Hoey-St Clair family."
