I love the rooms. They are spacious and clean always and I always feel safe staying there by myself. The only thing I wish is that they had a couple ice machines available outside of the lobby other than that I always enjoy my stay there and am a bit sad when it's time to leave. I also like the fact that they are pet friendly and have a nice grass area for the furkids.

My boyfriend and I stayed in one of their King Casitas for two nights. We really liked how quiet it was however the room was a bit run down. The doors were tricky and when we first arrived to our room we couldn’t get in so I went back to the lobby an employee told us the trick to getting the doors open. If my boyfriend hadn’t been there I would have felt unsafe because I couldn’t open the door on my own for a whole day. Another issue with the doors was that they were worn down to the point that there were cracks in the door letting in light . Thankfully we didn’t see any bugs come through them. The bathroom was beautifully designed however the shower was not completely clean when we checked in. There were small hairs on the shower wall from the previous guest . We had a short stay so these issues were minor enough for us to look over for two nights . The staff seemed friendly and the overall location felt safe , we even walked down to the Locale restaurant one night which isn’t far from the property.

This is a beautiful property. The courtyards and walkways are lush with tropical plants and flowers. The room itself was large and very comfortable.

This was our 4th time visiting. Love the quiet well manicured garden space, the pool and the ambience. Our only negative is the breakfast buffet is no longer included but we still had a great time.

We liked the spaciousness of the room, the grounds, and the location. We did not like a patio that could not be used because the door was permanently closed and locked. We were originally assigned a room on the second floor, but we had to switch because they did not have elevators or a person to carry our bags to the second floor

This property was an old homestead that has been converted into a hotel. I had a king suite that was superb - big bedroom and big dining/living room suitable for my business meetings. The on-site restaurant is wonderful, with indoor and outdoor dining, a large bar and excellent food. There is no complimentary breakfast now, but the food served at the breakfast buffet is 2 steps higher in quality than the complimentary breakfasts served at many places. Its only 8 minutes from U of A, so keep that in mind when visiting your kid on college.

Cielos is a very pleasant option for all meals during the day. Food and service both very good, nice ambience. Our room was spacious and bathroom was well-equipped. Grounds are well-kept. Location convenient to most of Tucson.

The grounds were nice and pretty with good landscaping. They have pet friendly rooms. You can bring your dogs to the restaurant patio. The windows were outdated and let in a lot of noise. With an evening party on the grounds, it was very loud.

This continues to be a great property but some of the changes under new ownership have made it not quite as good. Breakfast is no longer included in your stay. The cost of the buffet is too high to be much of an option. We have been staying here regularly for years and the quality of the restaurant Ceilos has definitely gone down hill. While still ok, it used to be excellent and one of the main conveniences of staying here. However, the wait staff has always been great. Last night Amanda did a great job.

The hottub was really small. The pool wasn't very warm and was also small. They was one lounge chair and one desk chair in the room-not enough. There was also no small table to set snacks, etc on. There was no microwave. I thought we had a free breakfast and we did not. All they had was a $17 buffet. The cleaning people knocked on our door at 8:30 AM to clean the room. When there were people upstairs, it was very noisy. There was no coffee available to buy. Their instant coffee in the room was not very good. They charged a security deposit as soon as we checked in and said it would be 2-5 days after we left to get it back. All that said, we won't be staying their again.

We loved our stay at Lodge on the Desert! The grounds were beautiful, the staff was friendly, and the pool area was sunny and beautiful too! The room was comfortable and the fireplace was perfect for the cool desert nights. We also enjoyed Cielos, their patio is adorable and was the perfect place to enjoy their happy hour. Definitely would stay at Lodge on the Desert again!

The ambience was good (southwest feeling) . We reserved two rooms; one for my husband and me and the other for friends visiting from France. The room I reserved for them was not the same as the one I thought we were reserving….no sofa or overhead beams as the picture showed.

They grounds are nice with a beautiful cactus garden around some of the casitas. The grounds were well maintained and peaceful. Some rooms are definitely better than others though. Our room was far back right next to the maintenance and laundry area, so there was some noise throughout the day starting early in the morning. The housekeeping staff and grounds crew were friendly and polite.

We didn't have a great stay. The room was small and dingy with a few half-burnt logs in the fireplace from the last guest. The room needs repainting. The place was sorely understaffed though the young people working there were doing their best. The most regrettable thing was the lack of staff in the dining room. For a full restaurant, they had only 3 staff--no hostess, no manager, no one to bus tables. The few waitstaff there did a heroic job serving everyone and then kept up the service in the bar until closing time. Management was not receptive to our comments. This place could be run better. Not worth what I paid.

It is a beautiful property and close to many fine retaurants. I was on a golfing vacation with friends and we each were able to get a great room. There were several outdoor areas where we could get together for snacks and beverages. Will stay there again on our next annual trip. It really helped getting great weather, which I am sure the property arranged.

I did not like the fact that there was no shower curtain or door to enclose the shower. It was very awkward. There was not bottled water in room or small coffe maker for guests, most hotels have at least these basic amenites. The fee is quite high for a daily stay and breakfast is NOT included- we had to pay, very disappointing. Also, had a strange man knock on my door at 11pm at night. so security is an issue. Will not stay here again.

Beautiful property. Very large comfortable rooms. Front desk staff were very helpful and check in was quick. We went to the happy hour and stayed for supper and our waiter, Ben, was very efficient and friendly. Food was very good too.

Beautiful grounds and good location. Stayed in the King Casita room. Comfy bed and very powerful shower. Hotel dates back to 1940’s so original windows were a bit drafty and bathroom could use an update. Otherwise an awesome stay! Highly recommended.

Staff was great even when their system was down. Didn't get keys for hours but security let us into our room. Happy hour at Cielos was very good. Love the ambiance of this property.

Lovely hotel centrally located between downtown and Sugauro East park. Excellent staff, very friendly, very quiet room. The room was large and comfortable with a large bathroom. The wifi can be a little wonky - signals can have trouble passing through thick stone walls, so we were best using wifi in direct path of the door. Restaurant was excellent - maybe a little pricey, but most hotel restaurants are. Unfortunately it was cold and rainy so we didn't get to enjoy the patio and fireplace. The bar was very nice and comfortable. Would stay again.
