Expedia failed; hotel came through superbly

Pros: Without a doubt, this was the best customer service by front desk staff that I have ever received.
Cons: Expedia needs to get rid of the delay between the time the customer makes the reservation and the hotel receives the confirmation.
I made the reservation at about 2230 hours on a Saturday night through Expedia. By 2330, the hotel still had not received the confirmation. After a lengthy conversation with an Expedia representative, the reservation through Expedia was cancelled. In the meantime, one of the front desk staff, blocked a room so that I would be sure to have a place to stay. The hotel was at almost maximum capacity. Expedia refunded my otherwise non-refundable fee because the hotel requested the cancellation. The confirmation information did not reach the hotel until 0200. Now, the good news. The desk clerk booked my room in the Presidential Suite and charged me much less than Expedia! What a great way to make amends!

Nice hotel

Pros: The pool was great. Staff was very friendly and ready to help.
Cons: Needs updating. Air conditioning didn't work that well. Beds are old and sinking in the middle. I know the hotel is planning updates.
Location: Very close to shopping and restaurants.
Nice hotel close to shopping and restaurants. Staff is very pleasant and welcoming. Nice room for the price. I would stay here again.

Pros: Close to who I was visiting, great restaurants, easy getting to and from hotel.... shopping is close if you want to do that as well.
Cons: nothing

Rude and Inflexible

Pros: Disregard the last three ratings. I had to put something in order to submit this review. I never was at the hotel to accurately and fairly review.
I made a same day reservation for a last minute trip to Tucson for work. Only a few hours later I received a call from my son's school nurse. He was very ill and I needed to pick him up. Assuming he would not be well enough to travel, I rescheduled my appointment and called to cancel the hotel room for that night. Even though the reservation was just made a few hours earlier, and even after explaining the circumstances that necessitated the cancelation, the hotel enforced their policy and charged me for one night room/tax. They had plenty of availability and nobody was turned away because my one room created a sold out situation. My reservation for those few hours cost the hotel nothing. Charging me for the cancelation was not done to offset costs, it was done out of greed. The Hilton was not my first choice. All my usual hotels in Tucson were sold out leaving few options. I think their low occupancy during peak season combined with their need to hang on to every dollar at the expense of customer service, tells you all you need to know to justify removing it from future consideration.

Pros: the door to the room was very hard to open and close. you had to feally slam it to get it to close. at night you heard other hotel doors being slammed
Location: plenty of shopping nearby
hotel was easy to find and fairly clean. only complaint was room door was hard to open and close. constantly hearing doors being slammed shut especially at night which was a problem. also no fridge in room and no ice machine on my floor. the fifth.. pool was quite small considering the size of hotel

Nice hotel, good location.

Pros: The lobby is lovely. The restaurant has a beautiful mountain view. And the staff was awesome. The room was clean. The beds were comfortable.
Cons: The toilet didn't have a strong flush. The window needs cleaning. The shower water does not drain properly.
Location: The location was perfect.
The main thing we noticed about this hotel was the staff. Almost everybody went out of their way to treat the guests in the most hospitable way. We were very happy with the service. When we needed an extra blanket, it took less than 5 minutes for someone with a very good attitude to show up. It is clear that customer service is top priority at this hotel.

Beautiful hotel and excellent food. The warm outdoor pool and spa made for the best night ever.

Expedia was the problem

Booked Hilton and received confirmation from Expedia but arrived and no reservation. The whole hotel was booked on this busy week in Tucson. After 45 mins hotel managed to find a room after calling Expedia. Was not impressed.
