"The room was clean and the service from staff was good. Having a microwave and refrigerator in the room was great. The hotel also had a hot breakfast!"

"The room was dingy. The sofa was very dirty, the carpet was nasty. The front desk attendant cannot change to another room because they going through renovation. We didn't go to the breakfast because of the cleanliness. And this hotel not longer belong to the previous owner! Why didn't I know that when I was booking the hotel? I was a member of Hotels.com for about 20 years and I never had a bad experience like this. I would like to have refund of my money. Please respond ASAP "

"I stayed at the Sonesta Select Newark Christiana Mall in November 2025, and it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had. There was no hot water during my entire stay, and management did not provide any updates or a timeline for when it would be fixed. Why stay at a hotel if you can’t even take a proper shower? They offered to cancel customers' reservations without penalty, but where am I supposed to go last-minute and pay extra? The cleanliness was also unacceptable -- the nightstand was sticky, the bed sheets had brown/black stains, and the bathroom was unkept, with toothpaste marks on the faucet and a tub that wouldn’t drain. These problems are easily fixed. There was an odd aroma throughout the room. Overall, the room felt neglected and poorly maintained. I expected far better from a Sonesta. I would not recommend this property until the management addresses these maintenance and housekeeping issues."
