Well... we've stayed in worse places. So there's that.
The driveway of the hotel is riddled with potholes. I mean, it's bad.
The hotel was clearly undergoing some renovation but it was uncertain if they would be finishing it - it was like they ran out of money and you got what you got. Our room was incredibly spacious -- like I've never seen in a hotel room before with lots of empty space -- but it also didn't have a dresser. There were outlets without covers. And the shower was absolutely disgusting. I couldn't get ahold of the front desk or guest services, but a cleaning cart was left unattended overnight at the end of our hall, so I took it upon myself to grab cleaning supplies and clean the HAIR from the shower drain and the VISIBLE PINK MILDEW from the shower head. Never could get ahold of staff the 5 days we were there.
However, we felt safe, and the rest of our stay was fine. We left the "do not disturb" sign on our door the whole time so I can't attest to the daily cleanings.
I will say, we won't stay here again. The 7 star reviews had me expecting better.
