This is a lovely Inn with nice decor. However room 7 which is a comfy plus room has very little insulation. As a result you hear every conversation in the restaurant area directly below the room and on the patio outside. Plus the muffled music from the bar / restaurant speakers that are nearest the room. The staff were very accommodating in trying to isolate the speakers to reduce the noise. Luckily the bar is closed from 1030 and there was no noise until 7am when the staff arrived to prepare breakfast. Friends staying in other rooms didn’t have so much disturbance. Recommend avoiding rooms 7&8.
Such a lovely room, full of character and cosy touches. Staff were friendly and helpful and we had a lovely dinner and breakfast. Can't recommend highly enough.
Nice pub accommodation close to the sea. The rooms are above the pub, so expect noise until after closing time. It's a large pub for tourists, so it can get busy, yet despite the young front of house team, this place runs like clockwork - I was very impressed with how well organised they were. The full English breakfast was excellent. We parked in the pub's car park at 18:30, taking one of the last spaces, but left and came back around 9pm and parked without any issue. The rooms are comfortable - great bathroom with good toiletries, comfy bed, fan provided for those balmy Dorset summer evenings. Curiously, the bedroom door cannot be locked from the inside - this needs to be changed. All round, very happy with this stay and would recommend.
Really warm welcome at the hotel, taken to our room which was very clean cosy and snuggly. Amenities in the room excellent and we were catered for well, including sufficient space for the dogs.
Ate two nights in the bar/restaurant, staff very good, food lovely, excellent selection for gluten free which was amazing to experience.
A lovely restful couple of days and made
To feel exceptionally welcome
Our stay at Smugglers Inn was excellent there was a bit of noise on the first night with staff chatting till the early hours, but second night was very peaceful. I would definitely stay here again.
Friendly staff.
Lovely food and drink.
Beautiful room but was a little bit noisy as we were above a speaker in the bar area and could easily hear people speaking.
However it was such a lovey place we would definitely stay again!
Nadia at check-in to dinner service was amazing &so kind. We had the roughest day & ended up getting to the Smugglers Inn after 7p, 1 room left & she was so sweet. The food is top notch at dinner! EST we’ve had so far on our two week trip haunting all over Bath, Cornwall, & London!!!
Best hotel stay in UK. Great old hotel with character. Area amazing. Rooms clean, meal really great and freshly made. Staff very helpful. Was best stay in 2 month trip.
Stunning hotel, cosy and welcoming. Lovely decor in room. Amazing location. Delicious breakfast. Excellent service.
One of the best hotels on the South West coastal path!
This hidden gem is a great place to stay. The staff bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable and well fed. Not at all cold like most hotel rooms very individual.
