The two downstairs windows, either side of the front door, were dirty & looked like they hadn't been cleaned for years. Not a very welcoming view. Our room, the Garden Room, was at the back of the house & had it's own entrance from the garden. It was clean but basic. This is a hotel with charm and character; it's also a genuinely relaxing and pleasant place to be. Well stocked tea and coffee hot choc. Lovely cold bottle of water in a glass bottle. Fan in room perfect for this weather. If you're looking for a room with character and not just the same old that you get with premier inns and travel lodges this is the place for you. The bed was super comfy too ! Good shower.
