The replacements were spot on, however. The rooms were very nice, with comfortable beds and blackout curtains. The only disappointment was that they were adjacent to the Inn proper and facing the parking lot, so it felt more like staying at a high end motel. The laundry delivery truck came at 6am, parked not 30 feet from our door and woke us up doing linen exchange. An hour later it was the garbage truck picking up from the kitchen bin enclosure, which was right outside the rooms. We had to don a raincoat to go from our rooms to dinner in the Inn. None of this was expected when booking. The only upside to our rooms was the accessibility for my elderly mother. From the time we arrived to when we left the service was excellent. We were offered a drink from the bar when we arrived and on departure a coffee for the journey, never have we had this while staying in a pub! All the staff were friendly and very helpful, offering to help with our bags and any other needs we had. Our room, The Dolebury, was in an annex set aside from the actual pub and was beautiful and very clean. Complimentary water, tea and coffee and toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfasts were cooked to order and were delicious and plentiful. We also ate in the pub 2 evenings and the food was very tasty and good options. We would totally recommend this pub set in a beautiful tranquil location, though also very easy to reach places like Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole and Glastonbury.
