"The cottage was comfortable and well equipped. We were met by the owner, Mark, on arrival, who was very welcoming. He provided lots of local information, including walks and pubs marked on an OS map. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. There are several properties here, but all wirh separate entrances and outside seatinf areas so they feel private. It was a great base for a few days in the Suffolk countryside. "

"The Squirrels is in a great location especially if you have a dog. The grounds are absolutely beautiful.The place is clean and all very neat. But very limited on space. It’s is what it is a Shepards hut!!! A must if you are in the area is the Tin Roof Cafe entrance is in the garden centre on the main road to Danbury. Also The Cricketers in Danbury their food is amazing especially Sunday roast it’s a must."

"My husband and I recently stayed at Russets at the Bloomfield Fruit Farm in Chipping Ongar with our dog and had an exceptional experience. "Everything was as listed….the log burner was an added feature which we were happy to use on rainy days. The location was really goid… Colchester close and historically very interesting. North of the city was Constable country… nice walks and interesting info on the artists. South we enjoyed Tiptree museum, and the Salt marshes for walking and photography. Ovreall it was everything we wished for “"

"Very nice quaint cottage everything you need for a comfortable stay. Bed very comfy. The only downside for me was the very steep narrow stairs but were manageable. The owner was very nice and helpful lovely breakfast basket left in the kitchen with bacon eggs tomatoes bread butter and milk. A fire made in the grate just needed lighting. I had a very pleasant stay would definitely stay there again."

"The owners were very welcoming and accommodating. We had everything we needed. Location is peaceful and idyllic on the lake and is really easy to get to. We felt safe and secure behind the gates. The bed was super comfortable and the house was super clean.
