The best time to go to Aitong is during the dry seasons, specifically from July to October and again from January to February, to witness the Great Migration and enjoy optimal wildlife viewing. The long dry season, from July to October, coincides with the spectacular Great Migration, when millions of wildebeest and zebra traverse the plains. This period offers unparalleled opportunities to observe large herds and predator-prey interactions, as the vegetation is sparse, making wildlife easier to spot. Clear skies and comfortable temperatures are typical, making it ideal for safari drives and hot air balloon excursions. For those looking to avoid the peak crowds of the Great Migration but still experience excellent wildlife viewing, the short dry season in January and February is an excellent alternative. The plains are still relatively dry, and animals congregate around water sources, providing good photographic opportunities.
