"The staff were fabulous from first greeting, everyone was so friendly and helpful. I stayed for 3 nights, room was excellent, clean and with good amenities. Food quality of breakfast and dinner was first class, good choice and cooked to order. Portion sizes were huge! Despite being here on business the hotel is well placed and very relaxing. "The staff at The Bear Inn are terrific: it’s a family-run business and nothing was too much trouble. You soon will get to know everyone’s name a they will remember yours; it’s the little things that set a small country Inn apart from the bigger and soulless enterprises. Check-in was easy and, although we originally planned to stay for a couple of days, we were made so welcome, decided to stay for two more. Our day always started with an excellent and leisurely breakfast which really set us up for a day of exploring and visiting attractions. There is lots to see and do in the local area; you can dive underground into some of the local guided cave attractions, ride in vintage cars, trams and trains, or fly through the air in a cable car. Back at The Bear Inn and after a full day out, you can wind down with the delights of a superb and varied menu, all washed down with well kept ale. The Bear Inn is a really old coaching house, steeped in history; lots of small rooms with exposed beams and fireplaces, make for a cozy and comfortable place to stay or just eat out. So, the next time we looking for places to stay in Derbyshire, The Bear Inn is right at the top our list. "

"The cottage was exactly what we were looking for. It was small but very comfortable and it had everything that we needed. We especially loved having the espresso machine and the instant hot water. The views from all the windows were outstanding. The local home owners that we met were very helpful and provided some tips on things that they recommended to do."

"A really lovely place to stay. Was spotless and the stay was very comfortable.The only thing that i can fault was there are hidden charges. I was asked to pay 50 per person for the additional 2 beds 2 days before we go. Charges like this should be included at time of booking not just before your holiday. Especially when the details on the invoice stated all fees had been paid.Also the hot tub cost is confusing to me, with all the extra charges considering its there all the time."
