The Nest is a studio apartment with kitchette located directly above The Ponderosa Country Store, Lake George Colorado. Conveniently located right off Hwy 24 and minutes away from world class fishing at Anterio, Tarryall, Eleven Mile and Spinney reservoir's. OTV'ers will find never ending trails up the 717, in Rampart, over Hackett and on to China Wall. Wildlife enthusiasts, just walk out the back door to view bald eagles, elk, moose, antelope, bear, bob cat and many other Colorado natives that live in the Pikes Peak National forest! Garden of the Gods, Pike's Peak, Manitou Springs, The Incline, Cave of the Winds, and The Cliff Dwelling are also popular destinations under 30 miles. Just over Wilkerson Pass you'll be in Buena Vista, Fairplay, or Breckenridge. Adventure awaits and you'll be ready for it after a cozy nights stay at The Nest!

Great spot for Pike National Forest

After several days of tent camping and a change of plans caused by incoming rain, the host allowed flexible check in and quick to respond when we were unsure on how to get there. The spot is close to eleven mile general store and pike national forest. It was my fault for not reading the listing fully but it is an apartment with surrounding apartments. It's best suited for folks that prefer to eat out compared to cooking. We fell in love with the area so we'll definitely be back.

Very nice apartment, not exactly remote.

The apartment is nice, clean and comfortable, but when I inquired ahead of time about property size and hikability, I got no answer. Then when we arrived, we found we were next to the highway, in a multi-unit setup, with no hiking. It's not upfront that you are above a closed store.

The inside of our unit was very nice; the outside looked like an abandoned gas station. It was hard to find as we didn't realize we were staying at an old gas station with some buildings in the back. The coffee maker doesn't work so if you like fresh coffee in the morning, you might be disappointed. The host was hard to get a hold of.
