Penthouse Apartment on Lake Como with Gorgeous Lake & Mountain Views

Fantastic lake view living!

Enjoying an elevated hillside location along the tranquil eastern shore of Lake Como, close to the famous resort towns of Bellano and Varenna and a short ferry ride from the famous towns of Bellagio and Mennagio, this beautiful recently built penthouse apartment is ideal for up to 4 people.

The property boasts fabulous beamed ceilings throughout creating a gorgeous, romantic ski-chalet style ambience, open-plan living with stylish modern kitchen fitted with burgundy and cream units, gas hob oven, coffee machine, toaster, microwave fridge freezer and dishwasher.

The open-plan living and dining room provides the ideal place to relax and entertain guests with comfortable stylish leather sofas, a flat-screen tv, dvd player, and music stereo.

The property is centrally heated throughout and there is also a cosy wood burning stove in the lounge. Hot water is provided on demand from the combi boiler.

There is free unlimited ADSL wifi as well as satellite TV with UK "freeview" channels and various Italian and German channels. A chromecast dongle allows you to stream programs and films from your mobile phone to the TV.

A contemporary dining area is provided and alfresco dining can be enjoyed by guests on the large, sunny private balcony with breathtaking views over the beautiful lake and surrounding mountains.

The sleeping accommodation is also very stylish and extremely versatile with a spacious master double bedroom furnished with solid wood pieces and providing a romantic place to unwind with private balcony overlooking the mountainside and a second bedroom furnished with a single bed that converts to a pull-out double bed, and a sofa bed option in the lounge.

A newly fitted modern bathroom provides a power shower, washbasin, wc, washing machine and Juliette style balcony.

The small hillside modern residence is extremely sunny and boasts panoramic lake views. There is also a garage and public parking.

This apartment may not be suitable for the elderly or families with young children as it is a top floor penthouse apartment with no lift and two external balconies.

We stayed at this property for 10 days and thoroughly enjoyed it! The apartment was clean, tidy and had everything we needed along with a stunning view over Lake Como. The location was perfect, being located in a small village which was in easy reach of tourist hotspots along the lake via car or train. We would highly recommend. Thank you.

Breathtaking view, wonderful location, excellent hosts!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Dorio, on beautiful Lake Como. We will definitely visit again. The view from the apartment is spectacular. This cannot be over-stated. You really must see it. The apartment itself is lovely - well-equipped, clean, and in excellent condition. Our host, Sue, was second to none with her communication, assistance, and attention to detail. We couldn't have dreamed of a better host. We are so very grateful for our time at the apartment and exploring the surrounding area. There is a huge variety of things to do, including all imaginable activities on the lake, exploring beautiful towns and villages the area has to offer, and even a day trip into Switzerland to explore St. Moritz. You will not regret choosing Lake Como for your vacation. You will definitely be glad you stayed in this beautiful apartment over-looking the lake!

A lovely spot with gorgeous views of Lake Como. In hindsight, I am surprised that some stayed here without a car, as transportation around the lake can be a bit of a challenge. But we found it ideal with our little compact that fit just fine in the cozy garage and easy enough to pop in and out to journey off to the local towns and beyond in our week-long exploration of the area. You certainly are not staying in one of the busy, popular locations when you rent this apartment. But if you like things a bit removed and a bit more peaceful, this is your place.

Outstanding!

This apartment is a great find! stunning views and large and well equipped. The pictures in the website do not do it justice! We loved just sitting on the terrace, having supper and looking out onto the lake. The host was exceptional in her communication and we found the apartment easily. We had hired a car for our stay, but you could easily stay here without a car. The bus stop is at the bottom of the road - 10 mins walk up/down the hill. The bus would take you all around the lake.Thanks Sue for a great few days.

Quiet stay with stunning views

We spent a lovely few days in this spacious, super clean apartment in a quiet part of Lake Como. The apartment is well constructed and modern with many thoughtful touches. Quick, friendly and helpful communication with the owner Sue.Gorgeous views across the north part of the lake and quick access to the main north-south road.

Noch besser als erwartet

Wir wurden im Vorfeld von der Gastegeberin kontantiert, die sehr freundlich und hilfbereit ist. Die Wohnung ist sehr sauber, genauso wie die gesamte Wohnanlage, und es mangelt an nichts. Lediglich die Einfahrt in die Garage ist mit grĂ¶ĂŸeren Autos schwierig. Man kann aber vor der Wohnungsanlage problemlos parken. Der Blick vom Balkon entschĂ€digt aber fĂŒr alles. Der Blick auf den See und die Berge sind einfach unbezahlbar. Ich habe Abends, bei freien Himmel, mir das Teleskop auf den Balkon gestellt und den Mond anvisiert. Man konnte tatsĂ€chlich die Krater sehen. WĂŒrde definitiv dieses Appartement wieder buchen.

Stunning view, nice place

Pictures don’t do justice to the view that awaits the renter of this apartment! The lake and the surrounding mountains are stunning. The apartment is nice and comfortable with a great balcony to enjoy the view. I would recommend getting there during the day since it can be a bit tricky at night. Pay attention to the fact that there are 3 flights of steps to climb, but if steps are not a problem, the view is totally worth it!!!

Wir hatten hier einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt. Super saubere, schöne Wohnung in gutem Zustand. NatĂŒrlich ist der gigantische Ausblick vom Balkon auf den See und die Berge besonders hervorzuheben. Das Doppelbett war zu schmal fĂŒr zwei Personen, je nach Vorlieben zu bewerten. Die Schlafcoach im Wohnzimmer ist eher eine Notlösung, da zu weich und durchgelegen. Wir waren zu 3. und haben 3 Betten benötigt. Das war insgesamt etwas knapp. Die Garageneinfahrt erfordert ein besonderes Geschick, da die Einfahrt sehr schmal ist. Wir haben immer außerhalb geparkt. Das Internet war sehr instabil und mit 5 Mbit/s Download und 0.5 Mbit Upload auch nicht besonders schnell. Ansonsten ist alles so wie beschrieben. Vielen Dank

Perfect place to stay

This property is amazing, a great location with fantastic views. I would highly recommend this property. Parking in the garage is very tight, but it is in a quiet area with easy on street parking available.

We had a great time, beautiful views, easy travel to Varenna, Dervio, had a great meal at the restaurant at bottom of hill near the castle, La Taverna del Castello. We speak very little Italian, but were able to make it around just fine.

Lovely view and great appartment

We stayed here two years ago and like then it was amazing. We had a nice phonecall with Sue, the owner of the appartment a few days before departure. She gave us the info we needed to have a nice stay. The view is still one of the best we have seen. The appartment is nice and clean and has everything available for al our needs. The locals are very nice and it’s perfectly situated between all the highlights lake como has to offer. There is a train station nearby which we used a lot. Also the lake como is nearby for when you want to swim with a nice view.

Der Aufenthalt war super. Die Kommunikation mit den Besitzern war im Vorfeld und wÀhrenddessen sehr gut. Das Apartment war sehr sauber und hatte alles, was man benötigt. Sehr sauber und gut vorbereitet. Die Lage ist schön ruhig aber nicht allzu weit von Supermarkt und kleine LÀden. Der Ausblick vom Balkon vor allem am Abend ist super. Sehr zu empfehlen.

First visit to Lake Como

Sue and Martin are great hosts and made sure we knew how to get keys etc. The apartment has beautiful views and well equipped. The only thing that keeps it from all 5’s is location. I think it is easier if you have a car. There are no taxis that we ever saw in Dorio. It is a difficult climb up to the apartment when hauling bags. We are good hikers and once we knew shortcuts to town and train, it was easier. We had a couple of rainy days, so we were hrateful we had such a nice place to enjoy when out of the rain. Thank you Sue and Martin!

Großer Balkon mit wunderbarem Panorama

Die Wohnung ist sehr schön (entspricht den Bildern). Ebenso der großzĂŒgige Balkon mit super Aussicht. Die kleinen Dörfer und StĂ€dtchen entlang der Uferstrasse sind alle einen Besuch wert. Wir hatten einen sehr angenehmen ruhigen Urlaub.
